The Doe

Artist: Moriah the Artist

Drawing inspiration from my childhood memories of crafting paper dolls and the enchantment of the forest, I designed a whimsical, large-scale jointed puppet made from painted plywood. Equipped with wooden poles for interactive movement, the puppet invites viewers to step into a playful, nostalgic experience and play! By blending imagination and hands-on engagement, the project aims to spark joy and evoke the wonder of childhood daydreams

I, Moriah the Artist, am a 25 year-old black and queer artist.
I primarily work with collage and mixed media. My art
explores themes of healing from trauma, complex
relationships, racial identity, and sexuality. I use my art to
explore the ways in which trauma can shape our lives, and
how we can use art to heal. I strive to create art that is
both visually striking and emotionally resonant. Using a
variety of materials, including found objects, paint, and
paper, I create pieces that are both tactile and visually
stimulating. My art is a reflection of my own journey of
healing and self-discovery, and I hope that I can provide a
space for others to do the same.
